Dear Editor,
It is disturbing as well as disappointing that on the eve of September 1 (similar to the court filing) some persons, having been appointed, trained and assigned to locations now decide they no longer interested, citing ‘weighty responsibilities’, leaving GECOM scrambling to find replacements (KN August 26). Surely these persons had to know of the responsibilities attached to positions well in advance.
Would the recent cases of exposed ballots, breaching the secrecy of ballot principle, have anything to do with these belated decisions?
In a separate article and still on GECOM, it is equally disappointing that following certain mix-up in Disciplined Forces ballots, (KN August 26,) now recommendations and methodology has been drafted for the Commission to debate and pronounce on. Isn’t this closing the stable door after the horse has bolted?
Days to go GECOM. Get it right.
