Dear Editor,
AS we approach the critical general and regional elections on September 1, 2025, I write to my fellow Guyanese grounded in conviction and fact.
President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali and the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) stand before you with a record of transformative governance—one that has guided our nation from obscurity to global prominence, and one worth upholding.
On the ground, this wealth has manifested in visible improvements to daily life—widened highways, new schools, hospitals, malls, and the landmark four-lane Demerara River Bridge—all symbols of progress that make Guyana proud.
At the same time, the government’s focus on diversifying the economy—preparing for a post-oil future—underscores its long-term vision and commitment to resilient development.
These accolades are not just personal achievements. They are proof that Guyana is rising, that our President has elevated us on the global stage, and that we are a democracy others look to with respect.
The opposition remains divided—Aubrey Norton’s APNU/AFC, scarred by its 2020 election failures, and Azruddin Mohamed’s movement, tainted by U.S. sanctions and controversy. These groups cannot inspire confidence or deliver results.
When you cast your vote tomorrow: You can choose continuity—sustaining the transformation of our economy, infrastructure, and social framework; You can endorse forward-looking governance with a global reputation; and you can safeguard stability during this pivotal moment—where the wrong turn could jeopardize everything we’ve built.
That is why I urge you: come out and vote in numbers for the PPP/C. Give President Dr. Irfaan Ali that historic 40-plus seats in Parliament, ensuring a strong mandate to continue Guyana’s transformation.
A vote for the PPP/C is a vote for yourself, your family, your children, and your grandchildren. It is a vote to make Guyana proud.
