Dear Editor,
In a statement, the New York based non-government organization, Guyana Democracy Project, has condemned in the strongest words possible the deadly car blast near the Red Fort in New Delhi on Monday evening November 10 that claimed at least 13 lives and injured dozens of others as well as tens of millions in dollars of property. The powerful blast was carried out by several individuals tied to a radical religious group known for fomenting terrorism.
This terror attack against innocent civilians requires the strongest condemnation from everyone. There can be no justification for violence especially that kills or maims people without justification.
The GDP organization expressed sadness that the tragic car blast in Delhi claimed precious lives, injured many, damaged property, and affected business. The organization said violence does not solve a problem and as such has no place in a society. It writes : “Heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayers for the victims including the swift recovery of the surviving injured”.
The GDP calls on the world to join in unequivocally condemning the terror attack. The world must stand with India in its fight against terror. The GDP stands with the government and people of India in its period of grief and pray for speedy recovery for the victims and affected families.
