Dear Editor,
A respected news outlet in the United Kingdom recently announced that our proven oil reserves were 30 billion barrels. The official figures released by our government have not been updated for several years and given the gap in the figures it is important that an update be given annually if not twice a year as to the level of our nation’s proven oil and gas reserves.
The implications are substantial, and it is critical to our financial planning and national development strategy. The natural resources of our country belong to our citizens and should not be hidden from the public. Given the current level of corruption in the government, it is imperative that such information be easily forthcoming and available within the public domain. CRG patiently awaits upon the current Government and the House of Parliament to ensure that this expectation becomes a reality in the near future.
