Dear Editor,
I am troubled!
I pledge allegiance to no political party! I’m all for justice and equity!
The man in the street with basic mathematical skills, is calculating…
The woman in the street with limited certification, is paying close attention…
You can’t fool all of the people all of the time…
Is the slogan “Justice for all ” still relevant?”. Does the notion of equity apply to all, or is it, as someone has said: “some are more equal than others.”?
How is it that some alleged offenders are relentlessly pursued, while other alleged sexual predators, money launderers, assasinators, ‘dignified’ thieves, and folks who have reportedly attracted US sanctions, run rampant?
I’m reminded of the axiom:
“The wheels of justice turn slowly, but they grind exceedingly fine.”
I call to mind one of the prayers I learnt at school during my time there: “I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His Only Son, our Lord…”
Faith in God gives me hope! Hope in God causes me to pray “…Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.”, and my authority in God causes me to say – AMEN, so be it!
Let’s all join with the prophet Amos and say… let justice run down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
