Dear Editor,
Minister Susan Rodrigues, has by her choice of investing in real estate in a highly inflated Florida real estate market, constructively filed a No Confidence Motion against the PPP Government.
In the last five years since the PPP Government assumed office, the real estate market in Guyana is at an all-time high, with enormous returns on investment. Many Guyanese in the diaspora are returning and investing millions of US dollars in their homeland. They are doing so in part because the current administration has encouraged them to invest in Guyana’s future. More importantly, they have great confidence in the management of the country’s economy by the PPP Government.
On the other hand, Minister Susan Rodrigues by her own admission, chose to invest several hundred thousand US dollars in a foreign country. What is it about the future of Guyana or its economy under the PPP Government that Ms. Rodrigues lacks confidence in? Is she planning to take up residence in the United States while President Ali is encouraging Guyanese to return with their families and invest in the country’s future?
Ms. Susan Rodrigues, a Minister within Government and a sitting Member of Parliament, has constructively with the help of the de facto leader of the Opposition, unwittingly, tabled a No Confidence Motion against the PPP Government.
