Dear Editor,
While the PPP/C Government of Guyana talks about being inclusive they are just talking about being inclusive.
Being inclusive means sharing political space with the Opposition. It is about involving people in the decision-making process especially in decisions that affects their lives.
It is time for the PPP/C Government to stop paying lip-service and start walking the talk.
Even though I am aware that this letter will go unacknowledged by those in Leadership positions in the PPP/C I’m also aware that people need to somehow reach them so that they can change their attitude and behaviour.
Yes, the cynics amongst us will say that the PPP can never change. My response would be that people do change for the better in time.
The question is “how do we reach the PPP/C Government when they are in la la land?”
Somehow, we need to hammer home to the PPP that the high cost of living is causing unnecessary hardship to Guyanese.
Yes, I live in the UK and things have gotten harder here economically. But, Guyanese now have this oil wealth which needs to benefit all Guyanese.
Is the PPP/C Government really saying that they cannot sit down and have a discussion with the Opposition on how this oil wealth can benefit Guyanese?
That is not being inclusive at all.
