Dear Editor,
I have noted the marked and inordinate delay in the naming of an Opposition Leader and the convening of Parliament. I have also noted the call by the Embassies and High Commissions. Readers may recall that when APNU attempted to rig the elections in 2020 many Organizations and individuals commendably called out APNU and Mr. Granger.
This strikes at the root of good governance and I wish to call on the following Organizations and individuals, some of whom called out APNU and Mr. Granger and ask their opinion on this delay in naming a leader of the Opposition. The Private Sector Commission, the Chambers of Commerce – including the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, the Guyana Manufacturers Association, Mr. Kit Nascimento, Mr. Joe Singh, Mr. Norman McLean, Dr. Josh Kanhai, the so called Guardians of Democracy, Mr. Vishnu Bisram, the Guyana Bar Association, Mr. Gerry Gouveia Snr. and Jnr, Eddie and Nicholas Boyer.
It will be helpful if these Organizations and individuals can share their views on this delay.
