Dear Editor,
It is baffling that a prominent beverage company Friday afternoon frolic in the avenue is distinctly placed on the calendar of events in observance of Republic Day Anniversary/Mash celebrations.
How does this constitute or even qualify for a national event? Where is the national value, culturally or otherwise from this bacchanal? Who benefits except the beverage company? Is the planning committee bereft of ideas? Can we expect a similar event say on the Seawall esplanade?
