Dear Editor,
It appears the PM of T&T is speaking from both corners of her mouth as it relates to Caricom.
From one corner the impression is given Caricom is not high priority. She has not given a definitive response on her attendance to the upcoming 50th Caricom Meeting to be held in St Kitts and Nevis. She has also not responded to queries about her attendance to the Caribbean Energy Week slated for Suriname, at which she has been advertised as a keynote speaker. All this while criticisms at Caricom, its work and function, abounds.
From the other corner, comes carefully crafted sound bytes, particularly during the recent visit of Chairman, Dr. Drew, created the impression of a committed regionalist (SN Feb 5).
Is the PM serious about Caricom and the region or is she just stringing along?
