Dear Editor,
It has to be asked: the children had their Mash parade last Saturday. Why was it necessary to have them tramp through streets and communities on Friday last? Just what was to be achieved by this and to what purpose? This is an annual feature on the eve of Mashramani. It was not a good look to watch teachers bouncing to the accompanying music in plain sight of young, impressionable children. Children learn what they see and hear also what others do. The Ministry of Education should relook this form of frolic which comes at great cost to parents.
