Dear Editor,
I read with interest the letter written by Jamil Changlee titled “A regional strategic oil reserve should be catered for” published in March 18, Kaieteur News.
It sounds good, it should make sense, but what the writer fails to recognise is that in spite of earlier credentials, this PPP government is in the forefront of an unfortunate, tragic crusade of recolonisation. In other words, as in the days of indentureship and slavery, the ordinary people have little to say in spite of our independence in 1966, we have a government that is not in control of our massive natural resources. And as we noted earlier, reminds us of the puppy which appeared on our gramophone records years ago, no more than his master’s voice. Mr. Changlee, think about it, and pity us as a nation.
