Dear Editor,
It takes between 8 to 18 months to build a solar plant. That is more than enough time during the life of the power ship contract to add additional capacity to our nation’s power grid. The government has no excuse for its failure to have enough capacity in place to end the wasteful spending on the power ships. It is time for a change in leadership over the energy sector. VP Jagdeo has failed us once again as he did with the Skeldon project.
A renewable energy plant could have been completed in Kaieteur News on March 31, 2026.
