Dear Editor,
It has been reported that the PPP Central Government has taken control of several streets in Georgetown. Understandably, this has raised serious concerns. However, could there be a silver lining? Can the citizens of those streets now look forward to regular and efficient garbage pickup?
Can they look forward to regular cleaning of parapets and drains, regular cleaning of the canals with removal of unsightly buildup of plastic bottles and other large items such as unwanted fridges, etc.? And most important, the regular cleaning and maintenance of the koker outflows to the Demerara River?
