The public comments made by Ramnaresh Sarwan and members of the board regarding Kevlon Sinclair are completely unacceptable.
To go after a young, talented player in such a personal and public manner is not leadership—it is a failure of leadership. If there are concerns about Sinclair, those matters should be handled privately, with professionalism, care, and a genuine commitment to his development. Instead, what we witnessed was an unnecessary airing of personal issues that does nothing to help the player and only serves to damage his confidence, reputation, and future.
You cannot claim a player needs support while publicly exposing and criticising him. That is contradictory and harmful. The role of any cricket board is to protect, guide, and develop its players, not to publicly tear them down. An immediate and unreserved apology is warranted—not for addressing concerns, but for the reckless and deeply inappropriate way in which this was handled. Young players deserve better. West Indies cricket deserves better.
