On Sunday, May 24, 2026, the Macedonia Joppa Voluntary Committee (MJVC), a non-governmental, non-profit organisation from Eversham Village, East Berbice-Corentyne, will mark Guyana’s Jubilee (60years) Independence Anniversary with the largest GLORIFICATION INTERFAITH CHURCH SERVICE ever to take place at the Eversham Community Centre Ground in Region Six.
Organised and sponsored by MJVC, the service is scheduled for Sunday, May 24 at 15:00hrs (3:00 PM) and will be a dedication to nurture unity, love, understanding and collaboration across diverse religious denominations from the region. Several religious leaders from various denominations will be in attendance, including Pastors Quacy Henry, Patsy Johnson, Pam Donohue, Imam Eban Taki, and Pandit Devin Kamaldeo, among others. It will be a call for national prayer, worship and reflection.
This Glorification Interfaith Church Service honours Guyana’s 60th Independence Diamond Jubilee Anniversary with messages of six decades of nation building, cultural resilience and a bright future for all. It would be a celebration of life, health, strength, prosperity, unity, hope and healing and will bring together members of the Christian, Hindu and Muslim faiths, recognising that our strength lies in our diversity and our shared spiritual values. Attendees will experience moments of collective reflection, forgiveness, gratitude and prayers as leaders from religious denominations across the region and other spiritual groups gather in an atmosphere of deep reverence.
Residents of all ages and from all walks of life from the Macedonia Joppa villages of No. 35, 36, Brighton, Kiltearn, Eversham, Epsom, Bengal and No 43 and surrounding villages are expected to attend this Glorification Interfaith Service.
