She wept bitterly
Her grief in the usual continuum
Unusual under the law of death.
She wept as condolences in words
Touched; retreating her into lesser griefs
Soon all left
I alone was left with her.
We sat together
Long minutes passed into an hour
Not a word said I
The watch on my hand moved time
And time passed
She sat in silence
Grief her companion
Tears her companion.
Not a word said I
Then time to leave arrived
I stood up ready to leave
She wiped the tears from my eyes
And whispered
Thank you…..
