Dear Editor,
It brings immense anger and sadness to see what is unfolding before us. The dead bodies add up while Jagdeo speaks of development to a people in mourning. Where is the compassion? Where is the care and concern? The Toshaos meeting should have been postponed and everyone allowed to grieve in peace. No one wants to hear the usual crap they spew. They have crossed the line, and many are suffering.
The loss is tremendous! Try to understand, what has happened was preventable and thanks to those who could care less we have lost many innocent lives. This charade cannot continue. It mustn’t. Safety of our people must come first. It must be the first consideration in everything we do. We can no longer go back to business as usual. We can no longer return to the rush that has caused many to die. Slow down and see the life around you. We all matter. Life is important! We must promise ourselves and those around us that this will never happen again. It must not happen again. Not on our waterways, not on our roads. It must not happen again.
