Dear Editor,
Bill will be bereft. Where will he get his morning fix of Guynews? Where will he form his opinions without the letters page? A day without GHK is a day wasted. As are too many days with the other keyboard warriors. Plenty of them. Usual suspects. If you lose an election, never mind keep fighting in the land of ink on dead trees! Somebody might listen.
There’s always plenty of space to be prolix especially if you dislike Exxon Mobil and modern Guyana and live in the First World. Some of dem letter writers think they are paid by the word.
Bill will miss the courage of the de Caires era. A twinkle in the eye usually meant Dec was willing to take a risk and back you.
I will not miss the tiny cheques for my golden words-barely enough for a round with my pals at the Everest. To say nothing of breakfast at Shanta’s. Good to hear now that the family is no longer making rich lawyers richer! Bill will miss the Guyanese being indiscreet without realising it…
The demise of the Stabroek leaves a gap for sensible journalism in Guyana. Denis C might fill it with Demerara Waves but he needs to staff up, bulk up, get bigger and jettison some of those prejudices and GHK! As one door closes, another should open. RIP Stabroek News Pip! Pip!
